Spirit Lake, Idaho Travel Guide

Introducing Spirit Lake, Idaho!  Located in northern Idaho, Spirit Lake is home to about 2,000 people.  There are many legends surrounding the lake, including some accounts of homes being haunted, but this does not detract from the town's beauty.  Spirit Lake makes for a great day or weekend trip to appreciate the beauty of northern Idaho.  Visitors can enjoy activities on the lake and the new Empire Trails system.  Spirit Lake is a close drive from Coeur D’Alene, ID (40min, 25 miles), Spokane, WA (50 min, 40 miles), and Lewiston, ID (2hr 40min, 140 miles).  Escape into the beautiful Idaho scenery in Spirit Lake!

Spirit Lake is, of course, known for the lake.  While there is not much else to do, the lake offers a peaceful escape to nature.  Visitors can enjoy swimming, boating, camping, fishing, and hiking around the water.  The new Empire Trails are great for biking!  For an indoor activity, head to Sondahl Pottery for handmade ceramics.

Hungry?  Head to Annie’s Country Kitchen to fill up on breakfast.  Swing by Brickel Creek Coffee for caffeine and ice cream.  For lunch and dinner, try Mi Pueblo Authentic Mexican Restaurant, Liner Longer Lounge for bar food and live music, and Cedar’s Drive Thru for burgers and shakes.

Need a place to stay?  Consider booking a room at Moose Inn or White Horse Inn and Saloon or camp at Sedlmayer’s Resort.  Want a whole place for yourself?  Consider booking a Vrbo.  Here are some of our favorites: Country Home for 6, Lakefront Guesthouse for 2, and Lakeside House for 10
