Introducing Pullman, Washington! Pullman is located near the Idaho border in the Palouse region in eastern Washington and is home to over 30,000 residents. Most well-known for Washington State University, visitors can also enjoy local hiking, golfing, and biking. Like many college towns, Pullman has quite a food scene, with many restaurants that cater to all tastes. Located near Spokane, WA (1hr 20min, 75 miles), Moscow, ID (15min, 10 miles), Coeur D’Alene, ID (1hr 35min, 90 miles), and the Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport, Pullman is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway or to watch college athletics. No trip to Pullman is complete without visiting Washington State University, home to about 28,000 Cougars! Walk around campus, catch a game or a show, or even book a prospective student's tour. While on campus, visit the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU. Also, head to Palouse Discovery Science Center or try shopping at DREGS Thrift Store & Vintage.
Washington has lots of great outdoor activities, and Pullman is no exception! Bike the Bill Chipman Palouse Trail, an 8-mile trail connecting Pullman to the college town of Moscow, Idaho. Play ball golf at Palouse Ridge Golf Club or disc golf at Sunnyside Park. Locals recommend hiking and camping at Kamiak Butte County Park too.
As mentioned, Pullman has lots of great food for all different tastes. Have breakfast and fresh orange juice at The Old European and then choose your own adventure for coffee. This college town has plenty to pick from, so try Roost Coffee & Market, Thomas Hammer Coffee Roasters, and Pups & Cups Cafe, a dog-friendly coffee shop! Pullman has a lot of American restaurants, from The Land and South Fork Public House serving up American classics to Foundry Kitchen & Cocktails, Birch and Barley, and The Black Cypress serving upscale food. Also, be sure to try the burgers and shakes from Cougar Country Drive-In. For ethnic foods, grab Mexican staples from Rancho Viejo, Thai classics from Phikuns Thai Cuisine, noodles from O-Ramen, and Greek favorites from Yia Yia Nikki’s. Need some pizza?
