Introducing Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.  Yes, you read that right.  Truth or Consequences changed its name from Hot Springs in 1950 after a popular radio show of the same name.  Locally known as T or C, the town is home to 6,000 residents in central New Mexico.  Known for its hot springs, Truth or Consequences has multiple areas for relaxing in the springs or baths, art galleries, and two state parks.  Truth or Consequences is located near several cities including Albuquerque, NM (2hr 5 min, 150 miles), El Paso, TX (1hr 45min, 120 miles), and Santa Fe, NM (3hr, 210 miles).  Whether it’s a fun stop on the Geronimo Trail National Scenic Byway or a relaxing vacation, come and see all that Truth or Consequences has to offer!

As mentioned, Truth or Consequences is known for its hot springs.  Visitors can enjoy the springs at several hotels including Riverbend Hot Springs, Blackstone Hot Springs, Pelican Spa, Sierra Grande, and Hoosier Hot Springs & Inn.  Truth or Consequences also has two nearby state parks on lakes.  Head to Elephant Butte Lake State Park on the Geronimo Trail National Scenic Byway for fishing, boating, hiking, and camping.  Caballo Lake State Park also offers boating, fishing, and swimming.

Head downtown to The Center Gallery Fine Art and RioBravoFineArt to see art galleries.  Black Cat Books and Coffee is a great option for discovering a new favorite read or an afternoon pick-me-up.  Locals highly recommend the Geronimo Springs Museum with exhibits on the local area and Native American history.  Other great activities near town include golfing at Turtleback Mountain Golf & Resort and tours at Spaceport America Visitors Center, the world's first spaceport!

Truth or Consequences has several great options to grab a bite to eat, especially breakfast food!  Head to Passion Pie for breakfast and baked goods, Giddy Up Cafe for breakfast and special meals throughout the week, and Johnny B’s for breakfast, Mexican, and an ice cream parlor.  For lunch, grab Mexican staples from Tony’s and El Faro.  Try a new brew from Truth or Consequences Brewing Co. for dinner, have surf and turf at Los Arcos Steak & Lobster, or enjoy pizza, bar food, and the bowling alley at Sidekixx.
