Introducing Nacogdoches, Texas! Known as the oldest city in Texas, Nacogdoches is home to around 32,000 residents. Located in east Texas, the town is also home to Stephen F. Austin State University and the Texas Blueberry Festival. Nacogdoches is located near many cities including Dallas, Texas (2hr 45min, 165 miles), Houston, Texas (2hr 15min, 140 miles), and Waco, Texas (2hr 45min, 160 miles). With a historic downtown area, walking trails, shopping, and a waterpark, Nacogdoches has something for everyone!
Since Nacogdoches is the oldest town in Texas, it has several historic buildings to explore. Take a tour of the Sterne-Hoya House Museum and Library, the Stone Fort Museum, or walk around Millard’s Crossing Historical Village.

For lunch, head to Maklemore’s Ale House & Bistro for American food, Taquitos El Jaliscience for Mexican, or Butcher Boys for burgers, BBQ, and country cooking. For a beer, try Fredonia Brewery. Head downtown for wines at Red House Winery, or sip on the blueberry wine at Naca Valley Vineyard. Nacogdoches has plenty of great options for a nice dinner. Consider Republic Steakhouse or 1st City Cafe. For Italian, head to Napolis Italian Restaurant or try the Italian Nachos at Auntie Pasta’s. Locals love Clear Springs Restaurant, just be sure to try their onion rings and fried catfish!
