Introducing Cottonwood Falls, Kansas!  Cottonwood Falls is in the Flint Hills region of Kansas and is home to around 900 people.  Located in eastern Kansas, this small town is a cute stop on your way to see the Flint Hills and nearby bison.  The town is located near Wichita, KS (1hr 15min, 80 miles), Topeka, KS (1hr 15min, 80 miles), and Kansas City, MO (2hr, 130 miles). This sleepy town is perfect for someone looking for small-town charm and quiet.  Check out several museums, fish, and grab a bite to eat while exploring the area around Cottonwood Falls!

Cottonwood Falls is located near Tallgrass Prairie National Reserve, known for hiking and a chance to see herds of bison. Be sure to stop by on your way around the area.  Take a drive over to Chase State Fishing Lake for some fishing, camping, and a hike to the Chase Lake Falls.  Spend time at Swope Park playing disc golf or consider camping.  Head downtown to see the Chase County Courthouse’s beautiful architecture or admire art at Flint Hills Gallery.  For museums, head to Chase County Historical Society and Museum to learn about the area and Roniger Memorial Museum to see arrowheads.

Since Cottonwood Falls is so small, there isn’t much of a food scene here.  Caffeinated or grab breakfast from HeBrews CoffeeHouse or dine in hand-cut steaks at Grand Central Hotel and Grill.  Consider driving up to Strong City to Ad Astra Steakhouse for bison burgers!
