Warsaw, Missouri Travel Guide

Welcome to Warsaw, Missouri!  Warsaw is located in the Ozarks Mountain range in central Missouri and next to the Harry S. Truman Reservoir.  Home to around 2,000 residents, Warsaw is a great alternative to visiting Lake of the Ozarks, located east of the town, which attracts a large number of tourists in the summer.  Warsaw has plenty of fun for visitors, including swimming, fishing, boating, and camping at the reservoir, golf, and some shops.  Located near several cities including Springfield, MO (1hr 30min, 85 miles), Kansas City, MO (1hr 45min, 105 miles), and St. Louis, MO (3hr 30min, 225 miles), Warsaw makes for a great weekend or week-long lake vacation.  Bring the family, avoid the crowds, and see all the things Warsaw has to offer!

Warsaw is known for the Harry S. Truman Reservoir.  Visitors can camp, swim, fish, and boat at Harry S. Truman State Park.  While you’re there, be sure to check out the reservoir dam and see the fish at the bottom.  Need some rentals?  Rent kayaks and bikes from Warsaw Adventures.  Also near the lake is the Truman Lake Mountain Bike Park with great trails.

For other activities in town, be sure to check out Drake Harbor right on the water.  Many festivals are held here throughout the year, and visitors can walk the trail, enjoy the picnic tables, and use the boat ramp.  Be sure to walk or bike across the Joe Dice Swinging Bridge too.  Learn more about the area at the Benton County Museum or maybe try golf.  Visitors can golf at the Shawnee Bend Golf Course or disc golf at the Warsaw Disc Golf Park.  Want to thrift?  Head to Smallchange Thrift and More or Little Bit of Everything to find items you’ll love.  Other fun shops include the Warsaw Antique Mall, Country Charm, and Creative Palette.

Warsaw has plenty of spots to grab a bite to eat.  Head to The Rusty Skillet or Cow Patties for breakfast, then grab coffee and a sweet treat from Red Wing Coffee or Cosmic Cafe.  For lunch, consider El Camino Real for Mexican and margaritas or The Landing Bar and Grill for views of the lake and craft Beer.  For dinner, get your favorite surf and turf from R Bar + Grill Warsaw.  Finish the day off with fudge and candy from Sweet Tooth Fudge Factory
